Rilakkuma, like many products of the world, began in one destination in a country. That particular area used to be filled with Rilakkuma being neighbors to each other. At some point in time, several Rilakkuma grew out of favor with their close relations and set off to new land. "Several" turned into "many." Like humans, Rilakkuma were spread across the world. Life was good.
Until it wasn't.
Word spread of Rilakkuma abuse, abandoned Rilakkuma, and uncertainty of what their generation consisted of. Were there Rilakkuma cups? Rilakkuma backpacks? Rilakkuma motorcycle gear? Was anyone keeping track?
These questions fell in the mind of two sibling Rilakkuma while they made their journey across the ocean to their new home. The new environment gave them room to found an army that would solve their species' problems.
If only they had members other than themselves...

Like the former, this pillow can be found on Amazon (though it's out of stock as of 08/11/2023). It can also be found in the Crunchyroll Store. In my experience, I've seen much more of this in stores in my area with several variations.
