Who Made Me a Princess, or WMMAP, is one of--if not the most--recognizable royalty isekai manhwa out there. The plot follows a blonde-haired, jewel-eyed girl named Athanasia de Alger Obelia after she was reincarnated into the abandoned princess in The Lovely Princess, a storybook from her previous life. In the novel, her father, Emperor Claude de Alger Obelia, would favor her another princess by the name of Jennette Margarita & execute Athanasia under the belief she had poisoned her. To escape her death, Athanasia devises a plan to avoid the emperor & live her life free of dangers!
This novel is completed, with 100+ chapters.
Thoughts?
This manhwa was my first exposure to Korean graphic novels, thanks to a great friend who introduced it to me during my freshman year. I remained an avid reader up until the story concluded and don't regret it one bit. The artist did such an jaw-dropping job with the illustrations that it made the wait worth it. In fact, the skills most likely attributed to WMMAP being a graphic novel of high regard and serving as material to compare other royalty isekai manhwa to.
The plot is a cake with cherry on top! It contains elements you'd likely expect such as male leads but also elements you might not expect, such as a magical tree and amnesia. The ending completed with zero questions, a clean finish.
Speaking of male leads, if you want a break from this genre of graphic novels revolving around romantic interests, this one is for you. Athanasia has two potential leads, each with their own spotlight. Their pursuits don't stop her from her goals though. Here's to a motivated princess ᕙ(‾̀◡‾́)ᕗ !
Something I did struggle with, though, was my stance on Jennette. If you're someone who tends to be "choose sides," this one might be challenge. I'm glad to have grown into loving both princesses! I can't deny, however, that the debate in comments pitting them against each other sure are intriguing...
